This framed black and white photograph depicts a Cree tipi at Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, where Treaty 4 was signed on September 15, 1874. It was the fourth of the Numbered Treaties signed between the Canadian Crown and various Indigenous nations, including the Plains Cree, Assiniboine, and Saulteaux (Ojibwe). The tipi stands as a meaningful symbol of Indigenous culture and their spiritual beliefs.
